Last weekend saw the grand opening of Garage 88 located at Eastern Creek – and what better way to open a new garage than to host a JDMST end of month meet. With the warm sunny weather that at times had people ducking for the shade, a better day could not have been asked for!
Last weekend is only been the second time I have been out to Marulan for a track day and the first time without a full club of cars – so not really much to say about the event itself as there were only a handful of cars there – making it a great day when it came to track time for the guys but not as exciting for a photographer! So this post will be more of a photo dump for the guys that were there, Enjoy :)
Sadly the World Time Attack Challenge is done and dusted for another year but what an amazing show it has been! Both the competitor and spectator fields have grown so much over the last few years that it really makes this the biggest event of the year for our scene. It was so good to see both the International and domestic tuners really stepping it up this year with all new cars as well as returning with some improved favourites from previous years.
For starters I thought I would let you guys know I have added a new feature to the website which is a gallery page. I will now be uploading all event photos to the site as well as our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/negativeattention). I don’t feel I really have much to say about last weekends track day at Eastern Creek other than it was another top notch practice day organised by the awesome guys over at Driftmob. So this is just a casual update mainly focused around all the photos posted in the new gallery section!
After some umming and arring about whether or not to attend the Might Car Mods meet tonight in Parklea we decided we had nothing to lose and headed on down to check it out.
However upon arrival there was quite a large police presence at the event who seemed to be getting rather aggressive in the way they were handling things so we thought it best not to temp fate and end up with a rather unwanted sticker on our cars and bail on the event.
Having since read the updates on the MCM forums sounds like once everything settled down a bit a great night was had, so I am now rather disappointed we missed it as there was a HUGE turnout and some very sweet looking rides at the event.
Sadly I didn’t have an opportunity to get the camera out as there was no room to even park so on our travels home I just mucked around with some long exposure shots and used the flash light from a smart phone to attempt a bit of a strobist effect of my mates Z.
Well I think my site is now well enough complete that its time for my first post! how exciting!
Last weekend saw another Hardtuned/DriftMob track day held on the wet skid pan at Eastern Creek Raceway. Getting up at 6 to arrive at the track for the gates to open at 7 gave a glimpse of a gorgeous sunrise which promised for what has been a rare thing this summer, a warm sunny day!
